Causes Of Asthma: Asthma Signs & Symptoms

Asthma Signs and Symptoms: What Symptoms & Signs Reveal The Presence Of Asthma?

The most common asthma signs and symptoms

Asthma signs and symptoms are relatively easy to notice if only you know where to look. However, as asthma is still often treated as children- and teenager-only condition, there are still a lot of adults and seniors who may suffer from asthma without even knowing about it. Remember, asthma strikes regardless of you age, so pay attention! The following signs and symptoms may mean that you have asthma:

(a) You wheeze or cough while breathing

(b) Your wheezing gets worse at night or any time you sleep

(c) You have severe breathing difficulties while doing physical exercises

(d) You often feel a tightness in your chest when you are not doing anything physical and should not expect any chest problems

(e) You are allergic to one or more substances

(f) Your doctor says “if you were younger, I'd say that you have asthma” - ie. you have all asthma signs and symptoms, but your doctor thinks that it is something else.

If you notice any three of these symptoms in yourself or anyone in your family, you should immediately contact your doctor to confirm if it is asthma. Treating asthma is the best way to prevent the worsening of the patient's state.

Even if you have only mild symptoms for now, if you ignore asthma signs and symptoms, you risk suffering from asthma attacks – but without any relief medications available! Such a situation is very uncomfortable, dangerous and in an extreme case may require immediate hospitalization. All of that would be unnecessary if only you treated asthma signs and symptoms seriously, diagnosed asthma and got anti-asthma medications.
