Causes Of Asthma: What Causes Asthma ?
What Causes Asthma? Asthma Causes Aren't Always ClearWhat causes asthma? The answer isn't always clear in adults, although allergies are usually responsible in children. In adults, though, one of the single biggest causes is job conditions. Many people may work in factories or other environments that are toxic to them. Some of the triggers for asthma attacks are:
* Solder, as in electronics workers * The ingredients used in making paints and paint-related solvents * Drugs and their constituents (pharmaceuticals) * Animals and insects that are found in many professions The whole subject is exceedingly strange, though. Have you ever been driving down the road and gotten behind a school or other bus? The smell from the diesel exhaust can be nauseating. Yet, even though diesel fumes can trigger an allergic reaction, they usually don't bring on an asthma attack. The list of causes of asthma above certainly isn't exhaustive. Two asthmatics can work in the same room and one has severe attacks while the other is unfazed. So the asthma patience needs to play detective and figure out for him or herself what is triggering attacks at work, if anything. For instance, if a patient suffers frequent poor-breathing spells at work yet is on vacation where none occur, this might be a clue that something in the occupational environment causes asthma. This isn't conclusive proof, though, because the more relaxed and enjoyable vacation situation might relieve a lot of stress. And there is no doubt that stress is a strong trigger. Some folks are in the unhappy situation of having to choose between a job they don't want to leave - and frequent asthma attacks. Anyone choosing to leave needs to ensure they don't find the same conditions in the next employment. If you are uncertain what causes your asthma, or triggers it, you will have to find out for yourself. There simply is no universal reason.
